Welcome to the second instalment of my monthly insta-updates! In case you missed last month’s, this is a time where I update what I’ve been up to by sharing what I’ve been doing on instagram! I find it fun, so I decided to do it again!
This last month has been a crazy one, that’s for sure! Saying goodbye to single life and entering married life has been a hectic but wonderful experience.
Two of my best friends since high school got married this month! I am so happy for them, and it was such a wonderful experience getting to see how their love story has blossomed over the last four years.
I am so happy that they came to Connor and my wedding, too!
Canada day happened this last month!
This was my first Canada day where we actually participated in the Ottawa festivities, and it was so much fun! We are SO going again next year.
Also updated my blog look this month!
I’m really happy with it, and it’s highly customizable so I’m glad that I have a theme that I’m going to be able to update once I get a better camera while still sticking with my brand.
With all of the wedding planning madness, I really found that relaxation was key.
At the beginning of the week before the wedding I really wasn’t taking enough time to take care of myself, but I made myself take a bubble bath every other day during the week and it helped quite a bit!
The other thing that really helped with the relaxing was that we have the most amazing friends who took us out for dinner and a movie the Sunday before the wedding.
I can’t believe how much food they got us! There were actually enough leftovers for them not to have to make lunch for 3 whole days afterwards! We are so lucky to have them as friends.
Honestly, though, some of the biggest blessings this month were when I just got to sit and enjoy the little things around me. Wedding planning was stressful for me, and sometimes just seeing something beautiful made my day seem that much more manageable.
It may seem like a silly thing, but just walking down and seeing this lily just bloomed made my day that much better. Don’t get me wrong, wedding was so much fun, and having all of my family down helping out was an amazing experience. It’s just a little overwhelming when you’re about to make the biggest decision of your life, and sometimes those little reminders that life didn’t have to be stressful were just what I needed. (Thanks, God!)
On the same train of thought, getting out and actively relaxing is a MUST for all you future brides!! The day before the wedding my mom, sister and I all went out and got mani-pedis for the wedding and this place had massage chairs!
I was so happy.
But, at the end of the whole month, I am now married to this amazing man, and I could not be happier. This entire experience of wedding planning and all of the craziness that inevitably comes with it was so worth it. Because I’m married to him.
Ok, I promise I’ll stop now.
For those of you who have asked, YES I will be doing a big wedding post on Monday! :) Expect some adorable pictures (I only have 3 from my photographer so far which I’ll add, but I’ll update periodically), and make sure to check back for that! Then I’ll be getting back into my regular posts right after.
