Insta-update #1: Summer fun!

I often have a hard time figuring out how to do update posts that aren’t just a bunch of text. I’ve been working on using instagram better, though, so I figured “Hey! There’s a great opportunity to merge the two!” And here we are!

I live in Ottawa, which is not very warm very often, so our house has been taking full advantage of the summer heat! My roommates went to pick strawberries this weekend when I was out with Connor and my dad buying Ikea furniture for the apartment.

I came home to a house that smelled like jam and happiness. The girls made home-made jelly, and we all had so many strawberries left over that we’re going to have frozen berries for months at a fraction of the price!

My family came to visit this last week, since my sister is part of an international team of Bible quizzers (more on that later), and her practices are in Ottawa so she and my mom stay with me whenever she has one.

I live right on the water, so there are gorgeous walking and biking trails all over. I bike by the canal every day to get downtown or to visit Connor and I love it! As much as I’m excited to live closer to school in the next school year, I’m going to miss the canal when I move downtown.

While they were visiting, we went suit shopping for my fiancé! Now, my sister has taken up a habit of photobombing Connor and me, and this was no exception.

Rebecca’s life lesson #1: whenever you go shopping, bring your mom who loves frozen yogurt and she’ll buy you some ;)

ALSO, in exciting engaged news, I got my copy of the keys to the apartment this month! :D It’s getting so close to when it’s my apartment, too, and honestly I’m so ready and so excited.

So that’s what I’ve been up to! I’m working on blogging 3x a week this summer, so new post will be up Wednesday!
