The Versatile Blog Award

26 Jun

Good morning, lovelies!

Yesterday, Kendal from Life with Kendal nominated me for the Versatile Blog Award! Her blog is one of the most adorable things I have ever seen, and you all need to check it out! I love her design, and she writes on everything from blogging to beauty! So make sure to stop by her site!

Like any award, there are some rules.

Rebecca Gregoire from Life as a Dare was nominated for a Versatile blogging award! Check out the rest at lifeasadare.com
The Rules:
  • Thank the person who gave you this award.
  • Include a link to their blog
  • Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about you.
  • Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
So here are 7 facts about me!
1: My Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is ENTJ
This pretty much means that I’m extroverted, go with my gut, prefer to rely on logic than on emotion, and like to have things planned out. Pretty much, I’m driven and bossy, but I’m working on being more sensitive!
2: I’m obsessed with making things from scratch.
I knit sweaters out of yarn from old projects, sew quilts made from old cotton shirts, and refuse to use pancake mix–it’s not pancakes if it’s from a box. I just like taking old things no one else likes, or things that don’t have a purpose, and finding a new one!
3: My dream is to work with autistic kids
I’m studying psychology right now, and ideally I would love to get my PhD in clinical and research autism. I worked at a deaf school with autistic kids the summer before I moved out and it changed my life forever. Of course, maybe I’ll take a different path, but I can’t really see myself not working with these kids 5 years from now.
4: I have a really bad habit of starting things and getting really excited about them, but never actually doing them.

This is where my personality type comes in–ENTJs have a hard time actually following through all the way with all of the great ideas we have. We’re intuitive, and very creative, but tend to thrive in the theoretical realm, or in improving things, not seeing projects through from start to finish.

For instance, I have about 8 giant flower pots and tons of dirt in our backyard because last summer I thought I’d start a vegetable garden. I currently have one basil plant in my windowsill and it’s dying.

5: I’m working towards a minimalistic lifestyle

My family acquires crap. We just do. We’re not hoarders by any stretch of the imagination, but we all craft, so we always have buckets and buckets of yarn and fabric and thread etc.

But I’m getting married in just over 3 weeks, and I’ll be moving into a very small apartment with my soon-to-be-husband, so I really need to cut down! I also feel much happier and more peaceful with every box I either finish or get rid of, so that’s motivating!

6: If I wasn’t studying psychology, I think I’d be a marine biologist

I have an unhealthy obsession with the deep ocean. I mean, I want to get into one of those submarines and document disgusting-looking fish species that have never been seen by a human before. I want to watch gulper eels and giant squid and all of those amazing monsters that are in the depths–I’m obsessed. I have watched every single documentary that I’ve found on the deep ocean, and if I ever had a chance to go down there I would.

7: I really really want a puppy.

I’ve never had a dog before. My dad’s allergic, and for a while we thought that I was, too. Then we realized that every time we saw a family with a dog, they also had a cat. I never reacted around just dogs, though, so I’m clear!

Specifically, I want a dachshund or a corgi, but since we only live in an apartment, corgi is kind of out of the question for now. :)

Now, my nominations!

I had the same problem as Kendal–it’s so hard to think of 15 people! So I limited it to 6!

  • Melody Maynard
  • Sarah Laughed
  • Sam Dignam
  • Candid Caroline
  • Deija from Lipstick and Laughter
  • Catherine Beard

I highly recommend checking out all of their blogs! Thank you again, Kendal!
