January Goals

6 Jan
In case you don’t know, I decided that I want to achieve three things in my life: greater unity with God, greater achievement/organization in school, and less of a consumer-based lifestyle. To help achieve those goals, each month I create goals for each of those categories to help get me a bit closer!

Let’s look at how I did last month:

9 Ways to Keep your Resolutions

1 Jan
Happy New Year’s! Can you believe it’s 2016 already? I personally love making resolutions on New Year’s, it makes me so excited for the year to come.

Resolutions are funny things. A good family friend of ours posted on Facebook this morning “Happy New Year! Remember what they say about resolutions: they go in one year and out the other.” I thought that was very fitting.

But really, we all make these amazing resolutions every year, and then a month later they’re completely forgotten. I know this–I used to work at a gym. We were always insanely busy the first three weeks, which was always stressful for us lifeguards, but we always just comforted each other by saying “Don’t worry–just two more weeks and they’ll all be gone.” Sad, but true.

I think the problem is that often we make these great resolutions but then completely fail to actually do anything to put them in place. We have all these great ideas but don’t actually DO anything about them. So I wanted to share with you what my resolutions are this year and what I’m going to do to make sure I stick to them!

Let’s go!

Five Lessons I Learned in 2015

31 Dec

2015 was a big year for me.

It was the year I re-booted this blog, the year I went from being “Miss Gregoire” to “Mrs. Lindenbach.” It was the year I found what I wanted to do with my life, and decided who I was going to spend it with.

I’ve seen a lot of “year-in-review” posts going up today and I wanted to do one a little different. Instead of talking about what I did and all the great experiences I had, I want to talk about what I learned this year in more of a big-picture way. This was one of the best years of my life, but also one of the hardest for a few reasons.  So, I have compiled a post for you of lessons I learned with some fun photos from the last year for your enjoyment.

Here’s to 2015.  [Read more…]

December Goals

6 Dec

I cannot believe December is here already! And we’re a week in!

I’m going to be honest: November was a tough month for me! School really took its toll this month, which is why I haven’t been as active around here for the last few weeks.

On that note, though, I cannot thank enough all of my lovely guest posters! I so appreciated you writing for my blog, and I couldn’t have done this month without you guys!

In case you don’t know, I decided that I want to achieve three things in my life: greater unity with God, greater achievement/organization in school, and less of a consumer-based lifestyle. November Goals

1 Nov
Happy November, everybody!

As some of you know, I have decided to start doing monthly goals to help me gain productivity and peace in my life. I started last month, in October, with quite ambitious goals that I’m surprised worked as well as they did! I’m actually pretty impressed with myself.

I liked the results from last month, so I’ve decided that I’m going to stick with this goals thing! It helps to have clear steps set in your mind to help you get to where you want to go–it’s a lot easier to think “get rid of 2 things a week” than “declutter the house”. Breaking down bigger goals into smaller steps is the only way to achieve anything, so I think this is a great personal discipline to have!

So first, a recap from last month. [Read more…]
