October Goals

2 Oct

I cannot believe it’s October already. September seemed to fly by–I’m kind of freaked out that I seemed to miss most of it I was so busy doing schoolwork.

Truth be told, school is stressing me out this year. I still love it, but it’s definitely busy and I’m getting a little overwhelmed. Because of that, I feel like life is slipping away from me, and I don’t really know how to grab ahold of it again.

So, I’ve decided that I want to be purposeful about each month, starting with making some October goals. I’ve always loved reading Catherine’s monthly goals posts, and I think it’s a great way to be more present, since you’re working towards something rather than just running after everything that’s slipping away!  [Read more…]

25 Things to Do Before Finishing College

30 Sep
I’ve loved the college experience over the last three years. But this is my last year.

It really hit me this last week especially, as September is coming to a close and I have no idea where it went. Fourth year has been my favourite year so far, but it definitely hasn’t been easy.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my future recently (like every senior ever) and how much of a gift the college experience is. I don’t have a 9-5 job (even though I study for about 60 hours a week), so I have a lot of flexibility. I don’t have kids to take care of, and I have a whole world of academic opportunity open to me.

After I had been thinking about all of this, I found a list I had written in my first month of school here in Ottawa–my college bucket list. It was so interesting reading through it and figuring out which I have and haven’t done as of now, and I thought it was actually quite a good list!  [Read more…]

School came in like a wrecking ball | Insta-update 4

27 Sep

Welcome to the fourth instalment of my monthly insta-updates! In case you missed last month’s, this is a time where I update what I’ve been up to by sharing what I’ve been doing on Instagram! I find it fun, and I’ve always hated the boring posts that are just long essays of “what I’ve been up to” from bloggers. So I’m throwing in some pictures to make it more interesting!

So September was crazy.

I didn’t even see it end. I swear, school just came in, tore up my life, and then, well, decided to move in for the next 8 months I guess.

That being said, I’m absolutely loving my last year of my undergrad. I can’t even explain it–somehow, even though I have 10x more work than last year, I’m not experiencing nearly as much anxiety or stress of any kind. I’m just kind of dealing with it in a healthy way, I guess (this is completely new to me, so give me time to process what it means to actually be experiencing a healthy amount of stress).  [Read more…]

When Motivation is Hard to Find

24 Sep
This is going to be a bit of a personal post. I’m having a hard time finding motivation for most things this week.

My life has been amazing these last two months. Not trying to brag or anything, but I love being married, and I love my school life. My sister moved to Ottawa, so I’m seeing her more, and I’m finally finding a nice balance between wifely duties and the rest of life.

However, just because I’m loving life doesn’t mean it’s easy right now. For the last few weeks I’ve had a very hard time juggling school with blogging, and tons has come up and thrown a wrench in my plans. School is very busy. I read over 150 pages in the first three days of school alone. I thought third year was busy–no, it wasn’t. It was child’s play compared to the sheer amount of things to do this year. [Read more…]
