Insta-Update 3: Post-wedding bliss

30 Aug

Welcome to the third instalment of my monthly insta-updates! In case you missed last month’s, this is a time where I update what I’ve been up to by sharing what I’ve been doing on instagram! I find it fun, and I’ve always hated the boring posts that are just long essays of “what I’ve been up to” from bloggers. So I’m throwing in some pictures to make it more interesting!

Life update from Rebecca Lindenbach from Life as a Dare, talking about the craziness of being a newly wed and all of their fun adventures in the first month of marriage!

This month has been amazing. Connor and I never seemed to have more than two days at home before we were rushed off to the next thing!

The first thing, of course, was that we went on our honeymoon! We went to the wine county where I grew up, and it was absolutely lovely.

We got to eat gourmet food, stay at a gorgeous inn, and have a view of the lake right from our room. It was a beautiful time.

When we got home, we got to start using some of our super fun wedding presents! One gift we got was an espresso maker, and I have already lost count of how many times we have used it, even though we’ve only been married for a month.

Honestly, though, the generosity of our friends and family just astounded me at our wedding. That was one of the things that kept coming back to me again and again as the wedding came closer and even after–we have been so blessed in the family and friends that we have been given.

So then we went home, and two days or so later I had to head back to Belleville again to do my final driver’s test!

And I passed!

Honestly I was worried about that one. I’m a terrible parallel parker, but somehow I managed to pull it off when it really counted!

So then, two days later, we flew out to BC to visit Connor’s family and friends back there! (I wasn’t lying, we really have been all over the place!)

Also, we celebrated our one month anniversary about two weeks ago! It has really been flying by, I’m just hoping that it slows down sometime soon! Here’s a video I posted of a small part of the ceremony:

So, after I got home from BC, two days later I went home to get my wisdom teeth out. And I got VERY very high off of the anaesthesia. I have a short video on instagram, but my sister uploaded the longer version to her youtube channel.

It’s really quite funny, and is proof that I should never be allowed to do drugs ever!

Then I came home again and I’M FINALLY HOME! Connor and I are finally able to just be home for more than three days in a row together and it has been so nice.

As part of the wisdom teeth recovery process, Connor watched the 5 hour version of Pride and Prejudice with me! He’s such an amazing husband :)

And despite his face, he really did enjoy it. :) And I promised to watch Band of Brothers with him in exchange.

And finally, school is almost here!

I have been organizing my school year, and using tons of washi tape type things (knock offs from the dollar store ;) Broke and unashamed) and I’m getting dangerously addicted to decorative tape, that’s for sure! It all started when I started researching uses for it for decorating your dorm room for this post about decorating ideas for small rooms!

This summer has been amazing for me. My marriage started, I’m going into my final school year, and my blog is really taking off. I wanted to say thank you so much for that one in particular, all of you who read this. It means so much to me!

That’s about all for now! Obviously there are quite a few more photos on instagram that I didn’t show here from the last month, and if you want to check those out feel free to follow me on instagram here!

What have you been up to? What was the highlight of your summer?
