8 Best and Worst Things about Marrying Young

I’m getting married in 8 days! And I’m freaking out a little bit.

The best way I can explain the nerves is that it’s like moving out for the first time. You’re excited, you’re ready, you’ve been looking forward to this for years, but you’re still nervous because it’s a big transition. I’m not nervous at all, just very aware of how big of a decision it is.

Here’s the thing: I’m only 20 years old. Connor is only 21. And yes, I know, we’re crazy young. But I wouldn’t change anything about the way our relationship has turned out, and where we are now, only 8 days away from being husband and wife.

I originally planned to be married at 23 and have my first kid at 26. That was my life plan, but now I’m 3 years ahead of schedule, and there are wonderful but also some frustrating things that come with marrying young. [Read more…]

Keeping up with Dad

It’s Father’s day this Sunday, so I’ve been thinking a lot about my dad lately.

My dad and I have always had a great father-daughter relationship He’s a great man, and even though he grew up in a house full of boys he’s still able to talk to his daughters without making me feel like he wished I was a son ;)

How to Throw the Best Bachelorette Party Ever

So my bachelorette party was this Friday!

Two of my housemates, Natasha and Hillary, are bridesmaids for the wedding, so they planned the whole thing for me! All I knew was that it was on Friday, who was on the guest list, and that I had to wear my little black dress ;) Of course, that was pretty much given.
